We had definitely bought the sunshine back with us. As all the holiday washing was done and drying nicely decided to go out for a nice lunch.
Living in the lake district, we are spoilt with so many nice places to dine. I am lucky to visit a lot of these in my job as coffee girl.
It was decided that we would go to the Punchbowl inn at Crosthwaite. This is another one of my fav places. I love the relaxed nature of the place, it’s great on the day we went, sat outside in the sunshine taking in the views of the Lyth valley or in winter sat in one of the snugs beside the roaring fires.
The food is always excellent here, local seasonal products you can’t go wrong.
To start I had English asparagus wrapped in Parma ham with a poached egg, food heaven. I could eat Parma ham with anything!!
For main it was rump steak rare with bernaise sauce and all the trimmings.
Even though I was full there is always a special part in my tum for puddings!! I had nutmeg creme brûlée with biscotti. It was heavenly.
So if you fancy a treat definitely visit the wonderful Punchbowl Inn at Crosthwaite.
Ps that’s why I run, love food can’t diet
