Completing number 23 off my 40 at 40 – Hollywood wax

Having had regularly bikini waxes for more years than I care to remember, I’d never considered having a Hollywood. I’m sure the different styles of waxing cause confusion and wonderment to many peoples minds!

So here’s the guide to the styles!

Regular Bikini Wax: Removes the hair outside the panty line.

Full Bikini Wax: Takes the sides of the bikini line deeper than a regular bikini wax, and can also include waxing some hair on top to make a more defined ‘triangle’ area, and trimming down the hair left shorter.

French Bikini Wax: Takes all hair off the in the front (except a small strip) and continues to right before the back. It doesn’t take hair off from the back like a Brazilian.

Brazilian Bikini Wax: Takes all hair off the bikini line, front all the way to the back (yes by your bum). Sometimes a small landing strip or triangle is left in the front.

Hollywood: Where a Brazilian may leave you with some hair left, a Hollywood removes all of it. The bottom line, you won’t have any genital hair left.

On one of my many visits to the salon, Sam my therapist said have you ever thought about having one and that’s how it came onto the list.

Appointment booked. It occurred to me is it better to have intimate waxing done by a complete stranger or a trusted therapist? I definitely think the latter, the therapist is just interested in getting everything whipped off.

Having had waxing done for a number of years, I don’t find it that painful but when the more intimate bits are done it did bring a tear to my eyes!

All done! Nice and smooth if a little breezy! Would I have another? I would say no, there’s something wrong in my opinion about being bald down there. I think I stick with being a Brazilian girl.

I must say growing out a Hollywood is like growing out a bad fringe!!

What next???
