So with a favourable forecast and not too much of a hangover. Set off on our New Year’s Day walk taking in Silver How, Blea Rigg and Tarn crag.
Parked in the Bridge House hotel car park as was £1 for a days parking. Paying for parking is against my religion but could cope with that!
Been walking around Grasmere for years but never done this walk before. Maybe because of my Wainwright bagging, it makes you look at different walks instead of constantly doing the good old favourites. The walk was very easy to follow as well marked paths. The weather was not so bad, at least got some good views for most of the day. Was very blustery on the tops though! Didn’t see a soul until started the descent from Tarn Crag.
The weather had started to turn and luckily for us it was only a mile back to the pub! Walkers reward was a pint of Mallinsons at Tweedies Bar in Grasmere.
