A gorgeous almost summers day. Having heard people say about the Rannerdale bluebells and they were reaching their peak, decided to have a drive up and see these famous bluebells for ourselves.
This was the first time I’d had my walking boots on since my injury in the Langdales back in March. We decided to walk up Rannerdale knotts and then along the valley to admire the bluebells. Plus it’s another Wainwright ticked off!!
It was such a gorgeous day and the beauty about this climb is you’re treated to fantastic views from the off.
As we climbed up, despite recent activities, realised how bad my hill fitness was!! Soon were on the top.
Was a small descent down and could see the purple blue fields of these famous flowers. It truly is an amazing sight. As you approach the scent hits you. They were just in full bloom.
A walk back along the valley to the road , then down the shore of Crummock water to the car.
A pint of Goldwing in the Bridge at Buttermere.
So lucky with the weather. When we did the Skiddaw walk before Christmas we missed doing Latrigg. So on our way back decided to quickly do it.
We parked at the Latrigg car park and the path is easily defined as is a well trodden path. The views from here are fantastic.
So another Wainwright bagged even though we did cheat and do it from the car park 😉
