So after doing my glider flight and being in the north of the county decided to see which Wainwrights we could do.
So we set off to do Great, Little Mell and Gowbarrow Fell as were in close proximity to each other.
I’m sure Wainwright had a giggle to himself when deciding which hills were to be on his exclusive list. We drove between each hill, I know drive by bagging! Hangs head in shame but this is how my friend Tanya did the Mells too. It would be a very boring walk combining these two hills!
Great Mell, 3 miles up and down to the car. Just a plod, not a very inspiring walk!
A short drive and we were at the base of Little Mell. This is a very short walk 1.5 miles up and down. Fantastic views from the top for very little effort!
Then another short drive to the foot of Gowbarrow, again about 3.5 miles, bit of a slog up but when on the summit had amazing views of Ullswater. My favourite lake.
