Bimble up Latterbarrow

Having stayed in Hawkshead with friends Simon and Liz. After a hearty breakfast decided to have a walk before the weather turned.
It’s great doing a walk from the house and not having to drive. So we ventured off to do their local hill Latterbarrow.
It was very muddy which was not a surprise with the recent weather we’ve had. Was a short ascent and were on the top. An enormous summit cairn greeted us along with a 360° view.

It’s a fantastic view for very little effort. This is my first official outlying Wainwright! From here, was a descent through the forest and made out way back towards Hawkshead. Of course had to have a pint in the Kings Arms.
I just love the bespoke carved pillar, amazing craftsmanship.
