Stone Arthur my penultimate Eastern fell

Another gorgeous day in the lakes so let the Wainwright obsession continue. A window of opportunity and decided to quickly climb Stone Arthur so that would enable me to finish the Eastern fells on Catstye cam.

The lakes were very busy and thought would struggle finding somewhere to park. But that’s where local knowledge comes in *taps nose!! It was lovely to see the sun out again.

It was quite a steep path up and because of time restraints it was a not inspiring up bag and return the same way walk. Another time, I would like to carry on along the ridge and add in Alcock tarn too.
Soon the summit was in sight and a double check that we were on the actual spot height. Yes we were and 142 ticked off.

After a few snaps it was back down the same way. Fantastic views of Grasmere kept us company on the descent. Despite the village full of cars, we saw a handful of people on the hill. Living here makes you selfish and don’t like sharing our hills with the masses!
