A little while ago the tweeter behind the Downhill movie started following me on twitter. They said the world premiere would be at Zeffs in Ambleside. So a check of my busy diary and yes we were free. Tickets booked and some of the ticket price went towards Ambleside mountain rescue.
The dress code was black tie and walking boots. I must say wearing my trusty scarpas were a lot more comfy than my usual heels!
We met up with Stu and Paula, a very quick drink and then to join the queue. We thought we would get a better view from across the road. So we did. Then the director of photography popped over to say hello.
Then James one of the writers.
Paula and I couldn’t resist a selfie with one of the actors Richard.
Then it was time to take our seats but not before a couple of pics.
The film was brilliant. A road trip on foot as 4 men of a certain age attempt the coast to Coast walk. Very funny, touching and great scenery. After the film, there was a Q & A.
Then was time for a well deserved drink.
A selfie to nearly rival the famous oscar one! Was lovely to meet Lizzie pictured with us who looks after the twitter account.
A very lovely night filled with lots of giggles with The David’s!! The night raised £900 for the mountain rescue a very worthy cause.
