Rather than queue up with the commoners to have a drink in the Shard, we decided to book in for breakfast.
The Shard is at 309 metres the second tallest building in England and third tallest in Europe.
It’s a very impressive building and the lift does 32 floors to the Aqua Shard restaurant in as many seconds. We luckily had a window seat and despite the less than perfect weather, had an amazing view over to the Gherkin and Tower Bridge.
The breakfast menu was priced at £29 per person. For me it had to be Lobster Benedict!
Utterly delicious, Dave had the Shard Beeakfast which also looked delicious. I did have a sneaky taste of the black pudding.
It’s never too early for a breakfast martini. Now these were seriously good and dangerously didn’t taste very alcoholic.
After breakfast we went into the bar and had another round of cocktails.
