This is one of my favourite hills, it’s a kinda lazy hill. What I mean by that is for a little exertion you are treated to one of the best views in the lakes when you reach the summit.
With recovering from a calf injury, I was desperate to A make the most of the current gorgeous spell of weather and B try a more strenuous walk to test out my leg. Doing Loughrigg from the tarn was the plan. I couldn’t believe I had never been to the tarn before. As I walked around the corner was blown away by the jaw dropping view to the Langdales.
A very lovely gentle walk along a gravel track before heading up a well defined path to the summit. Of course taking a view stop or two.
Was so surprised at how quiet this popular hill was, hardly seeing a soul, which I wasn’t complaining about. I’m very greedy about the mountains as like to have them to myself.
I love the views from the top of Loughrigg , getting a fabulous 360° views.
A gentle descent back down the south side of the summit down a well trodden path. Though still sunny it was very windy in parts.
We did have a funny incident not far from the car. We were messing around taking photos, when a rambling group were heading past. The man leading was so busy staring at me that he nearly fell over! Dave and I were in fits of giggles!!
Walkers reward and a late lunch at The Boathouse marina in Bowness. If carlsberg did Sunday’s…….
