When people see this on my list, I’m greeted with what you can’t skim stones. No I can’t hence why it’s on my list. There is something therapeutic about chucking rocks/stones into water, the satisfying splash and of course trying to avoid being covered in water.
When walking by the side of Derwent water at Keswick, there was a perfect bay with calm water and the perfect place to learn to skim stones. My husband Dave and friend Andrew demonstrated how I skim stones. Armed with a handful of practice stones off I went. A few plopped into the water, but I squealed with excitement when a few skimmed the water, 5 bounces was the best I could manage.
I have the basics as with everything in life it’s practice practice practice.
