Despite living up north for nearly 30 years, I have hardly visited the western Lake District. Mainly due to the time it takes to get there.
Visiting St Bees was put on my list after seeing lots of pictures on social media of the sunsets and beaches.
So a sunny Saturday we decided to rectify this.
We decided to park in Whitehaven and walk the coastal path to St Bees and get the train back.
It was a glorious day.
It was an undulating 7 miles with great view of the coast and the western fells. The beaches as we got to st. bees were huge. An ice cream was a much needed treat before catching the train back.
