New year, same old me

That time of year when the phrase NEW YEAR NEW ME is banded about. Some despair of the phrase but for me it is the start of the new year, signalling a clean start, to set goals and aspirations for the year ahead. Making yourself accountable for goals.

It’s like getting a new exercise book at school, lovely fresh pages waiting to be filled. Your 365 page best seller. I can’t believe we are in a new decade, the past year or indeed 10 years have flown by in a flash. Being part of a relatively new family business it has certainly see the weeks fly by in 2019.

Reflecting on 2019 how did I get on with my resolutions?

I want to continue to get fit with my running and you never know I may even enter some races. – my love of running continued with Lucy the Labrador at my side. I did the 10k pudding race which was one the funniest I have done. I have secured a charity place for london marathon in 2020.

Continue ticking off things off my fabulist.

Only managed 1 this year, visiting St Bees.

I would like to start doing the Wainwrights again as would like Lucy to do them all.

Lucy managed to do 10 wainwrights this year. Only another 204 to go!

Do less of more, give myself space and not feel guilty for just doing nothing.

This I failed miserably at. Beating myself up for not doing the impossible. Setting unrealistic targets almost setting myself up for failure.

So what for 2020….

Get fit for the london marathon. Hoping in doing this I will get less wobbly.

Not set unrealistic pressure on myself.

To make 2 hours a week just for me.

To celebrate the what I have achieved in a day and not focus on what I haven’t.

What are your aspirations in 2020?
