A wet bank holiday Monday, as a treat before Jake heads back to uni decided to head to Bowness and have lunch at Porto Italiano.
It is a really gem in the heart of Bowness, at lunchtimes and early evenings do a special 2 courses for £13.95 or 3 for £17.95. They offer a seasonal menu and have started doing more sandwiches and light bites.
I had salmon and dill fishcake with a caper mayonnaise followed by wild mushroom risotto. To finish, ginger Parkin with rhubarb and ice cream and of course a Farrers espresso to finish off with.
