Twitteratti walk up Skiddaw Dec 16th

So this was a bonus Twitter walk, Dave and I had decided we wanted to do the Skiddaw Traverse, taking in Lonscale, Little Man, Skiddaw, Bakestall and back round the Cumbrian Way via Skiddaw House.  So put it out there and 12 people turn up to join us!!  Newbies to the group were Beth and her husband Steve plus Bruce’s OH Charlie and Ria.

A very wet Twitteratti walk up Wetherlam

So another twitteratti walk was here and the weather was not looking great. After getting soaked on our Buttermere walk vowed would not go out in bad conditions! But as I’d organised it thought would be bad form not to turn up. Plus had newly purchased waterproof jacket and trousers to put through their paces.

Twitteratti walk up Carrock Fell

So we were having an additional walk this month, I’d heard various people talk about Carrock Fell so this was what we were going to do. Met at the base of the fell and the weather was amazing. As there was only me, Dave, Ray and Gary we decided on a linear walk. Gary and Ray headed off to park the car at Wolfram mine our finish, upon their return it was to attack the steep ascent of Carrock fell.

So another Sunday twitter walk and the weather was not looking great, after a few messages it was decided we would still go ahead with the walk and maybe do a lower level walk if weather really bad. Great Gable July 8th 2012

So this was our second Twitter walk and we had some new faces joining the gang.  We had the very lovely Tanya aka @heelwalker1, Bruce aka @brucehardy2 and Si aka @SiButterworth.  Luckily I had made enough brownies for the extended gang!!  Tanya and I had our essentials, mascara and lippy, all part of being a Glam walker!!Continue reading “Great Gable July 8th 2012”
